About Us
A Family Passion in the Heart of Pérez Zeledón
Ganadería JS Beefmasters is a project of the Jiménez Sequeira family dedicated to raising and developing Beefmaster cattle, located in San Marcos de Barú, Pérez Zeledón, Costa Rica.
On an extensive farm surrounded by nature, mountains and privileged landscapes, we have built a ranch grounded in our passion for the Beefmaster breed and our commitment to genetic excellence.
Our cattle are raised on open pasture, taking advantage of the high-altitude grasslands and privileged natural conditions of the region. This environment lets us raise animals in constant contact with nature, under close, responsible management that prioritizes their wellbeing and development.
Our herd is built on high-quality Beefmaster genetics sourced from the United States, carefully selected for their productive traits and genetic potential. We aim to develop animals that stand out for their health, docility, hardiness and performance.
We believe great cattle ranching comes from the combination of genetics, dedication, animal welfare and respect for the environment. That's why every animal represents our vision of building, day by day, a high-quality Beefmaster herd from the heart of Pérez Zeledón.

What is Ganadería JS Beefmasters?
Ganadería JS Beefmasters is a cattle ranch owned by the Jiménez Sequeira family, founded in 2022 in San Marcos de Barú, Pérez Zeledón, Costa Rica. It raises Beefmaster cattle and offers registered breeding stock to producers who want to improve their herd with genetics selected for health, docility, hardiness and performance.
Why is Beefmaster well suited to Costa Rica's tropical climate?
Beefmaster is a composite breed that combines Brahman (roughly half of its blood), Hereford and Shorthorn. The Brahman base contributes heat tolerance and resistance to tropical conditions, while the Hereford and Shorthorn lines contribute beef quality. Our animals are raised on open, high-altitude pasture in Pérez Zeledón's humid climate.
What does registered breeding stock include?
Animals come with pedigree records documenting their bloodline and production performance. Before any animal is offered for sale we evaluate its conformation, weight, docility and health. Our Beefmaster genetics come from the United States and are carried forward by selecting each new generation of the herd.
